Dreamzilla Scholarship Policy

Purpose of Policy:

This Scholarship Policy for Dreamzilla, Inc. (this “Policy”) sets out the procedures that Dreamzilla, the Dreamzilla’s Board, and any Board established Committees must follow in promoting the Dreamzilla Scholarship Program (the “Program”), reviewing applications, selecting Scholarship recipients, and reviewing awardees’ adherence to the Scholarship’s conditions. Compliance with this Policy ensures that the Dreamzilla Scholarship program is conducted in an objective and nondiscriminatory manner, in line with the Dreamzilla’s philanthropic priorities, and in compliance with applicable Internal Revenue Code sections and Treasury Regulations.

Program Mission and Goals:

Dreamzilla’s mission is driven by our unwavering commitment to empowering and supporting neurodivergent individuals in their pursuit of professional dreams or personal fulfillment. We recognize that neurodivergent students bring a wealth of unique perspectives, talents, and innovative ideas to the community. Therefore, we aim to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential.

Through the Program, we seek to advance Dreamzilla’s charitable and educational purposes by:

  • Removing financial barriers that often hinder neurodivergent individuals from advancing in their chosen fields
  • Easing the burden of educational and professional development costs, allowing neurodivergent individuals to focus on their studies, personal, and professional growth.
  • Creating a supportive network that fosters the well-being, self-confidence, and sense of belonging for neurodivergent individuals.
  • Rewarding and celebrating the accomplishments of neurodivergent individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievements, creative thinking, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities, to encourage them and others to continue pushing boundaries and breaking stereotypes.
  • Raising awareness and promoting a deeper understanding of neurodiversity within our institutions and society at large.
  • Fostering an environment of empathy, respect, and acceptance, where neurodivergent individuals feel valued for their unique contributions.

  • Dreamzilla will select the recipient(s) who meets the criteria above and for whom a grant would best advance the Program mission and goals listed above.

Application Process

Scholarships will be awarded through a comprehensive application process designed to identify deserving and qualified candidates. This application-based approach ensures that every applicant has a fair chance to showcase their achievements, personal and professional accomplishments, and aspirations.

The application process will involve a thorough review of personal statements and letters of recommendation, enabling us to assess each candidate's commitment to making a positive impact in their community, and their alignment with the mission of Dreamzilla. We are committed to transparency and impartiality throughout the application evaluation, ensuring that the most deserving and promising candidates are selected to receive our scholarships. To the extent Dreamzilla makes a determination on the basis of the financial need, Dreamzilla officials may require applicants to provide additional documentation sufficient to confirm their financial need (e.g. asset and income information, tax returns, FAFSA form, etc.).

Selection Process

The Program will be administered under the ultimate supervision of the Dreamzilla Board of Directors. Initially, the Board will vote on the award winners based on the criteria and application provided above. In the future, the Board may, by resolution, establish a Selection Committee and delegate to such Committee the authority to either recommend applicants to the Board or, if the Committee consists exclusively of Dreamzilla directors, the power to select recipients. The authority of such Committee will be determined by the Board resolution establishing the Committee and any further resolutions approved by the Board.

The Dreamzilla Board expects to consider applications on a rolling basis, and, at the beginning of each fiscal year, will set a target number of grants to distribute.
